Taman Anggrek Mall ceiling fell on Starbucks
Part of the ceiling of the Taman Anggrek Mall (MTA) located on Jalan S Parman in West Jakarta collapsed on a Starbucks coffee shop located on its ground floor. Customers and staff members at the coffee shop scampered away in a panic when they saw that the roof was falling.
The incident happened at 9:45 a.m. Nindityo, a mall attendant, posted a message on Twitter that there were four customers at Starbucks when the ceiling collapsed. It was unclear just how many people were injured.
“There's a woman who hurt her head, but she was already taken for treatments,” a shopkeeper who witnessed the incident told.
A mall security officer said that it was not an accident because the mall is currently undergoing renovation. Starbucks is now temporarily closed.
When asked for comment, a mall management representative told over the phone that they had not received any report of such an incident.
