LG Electronics Indonesia (LGEIN) will not leave Indonesia, or relocating factories everywhere. This was disclosed to respond to rumors circulating that LG will come out of Indonesia.
"Dealing with the information circulating about going out of the Indonesian LG, LG will not be out of Indonesia. There is no plan to leave Indonesia, or relocating factories everywhere," said Kim Weon Dae, President LGEIN, in a press conference conducted at the Hotel Crowne Plaza, Jakarta, Friday (08/13/2010).
He revealed, Indonesia is one of the strategic markets in Asia with the LG significant sales growth every year. Indonesia will continue to be a market for LG.
"LGEIN has over 20 years in Indonesia, have become Indonesian citizens. Therefore, LG will continue to remain committed in Indonesia and not coming out," he said.
Kim explains, LG has a long-term plans to develop the Indonesian market with investment and innovation in electronic devices, household appliances, communication devices, and business solutions that not only provides benefits to users, but also a better quality of life.
"Indonesia is one country with LG electronics ranking than other countries. We will continue the good relations with Indonesia."
He also explained, when many companies are choosing to exit from the Indonesian monetary crisis in 1998 when the LG was not out of Indonesia.
PT LGIN with 4600 workers producing, among others, refrigerators, CD players, and an LCD television that 95 percent is exported. The workers now have a new labor agreement with LGIN for the period 2010-2011.
