The status of Mount Merapi in the border province of Yogyakarta (DIY) and Central Java increased from normal active to alert. The increase in the status of the increased activity observed in the most active volcanoes in the world.

Based on data from the Electronic Distance Measurement (EDM) which is attached at the top of the observation post also showed a shortening of the distance. EDM condition of normal per day between 0.1 to 0.3 millimeters, while the current EDM recorded reached 11 millimeters per day.
"All data will continue our evaluation. The increase in this state we also have to convey to local governments around Merapi like Sleman, Magelang, Klaten and Boyolali," she added.
