Indonesian Forum for Budget Transparency (Fitra) once again highlights the government's budget which was considered too high. This time, the Presidency of the institution criticized for spending more than 42 billion just for new clothes budget post of President and furniture.
In a release received this morning, Thursday (9/23/2010), the 2010 state budget, Fitra mention the total budget for the Presidential Palace to reach USD 203.8 billion. For example in the Budget Implementation Entry List (DIPA) State Secretariat in 2010 is mentioned, the President will buy office furniture for homes valued at Rp 42 billion and Rp 60 billion for the renovation of the State Secretariat building.
"The numbers are quite high because SBY is too busy with affairs of imagery," said Coordinator of Investigations and Advocacy Seknas Fitra Uchok Sky Gaddafi, Thursday (9/23/2010) morning.
"House of office space will be filled with plush furniture, and of course, budget purchase of furniture, as well as the State Secretariat building renovation is very wasteful, and not sentisif against poor people's lives, "he added.
Uchok also criticized the budget provision of clothing to overseas offices of the President to reach USD 893 million per year. On the other hand, the President also need the cost of Rp 49 billion for road blockers.
"Procurement of road blockers as the courtyard renovations and procurement of security systems within the State Palace for USD 22.55 billion for fiscal year 2009, which is equally mencedarai people's sense of justice over the budget."
According Uchok, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is supposed to be consciously cut the budget on his own initiative. Fitra Parliament also asked the Commission II President dared to cut statutes.
