Design Concept of The New Parliament Building

In October 2010, Parliament will build a new office in Senayan, Jakarta. The construction of the building based on assessment of additional members to the Parliament which must be followed additional personnel or staff of up to 50 years. The development as an effort to organize the parliamentary complex.

The new building will be constructed on the south side Nusantara Building I. The buildings designed in the form letter "U" upside down, like frames and gates. The concept of frames is the philosophy of the parliamenter who come from diverse regions and cultural backgrounds. The gate forms a metaphor for hope that the new building could be a gate of the prosperity of the Indonesian nation.

Beside having a unique design shaped gate, the parliament building will consist of 36 floors, three floors underground ("basement"), with various facilities including an international meeting room.

Technical Team Leader of the New Parliament Building, Budi Sukada explained, the Parliament building was designed more than ordinary office standards. In addition of work office, the new building will also be equipped with a special floor designed to be a special recreation room, with the aim, so the Parliamenter can be relax.

The new building is intended to facilitate activities in the Parliament complex that need to be contained as well in order to support the councils performance.

Whereas the Parliament complex landscapes always include the element of water as an element of its formation. In addition to the aesthetic element is also used as a liaison between the existing buildings with new buildings and water reserves for emergency purposes. With the analogue whatever is done by Parliamenter always flowing, useful for Indonesian people.

The expected of this construction is reach about Rp 1.6 trillion, amounting to Rp 1.1 trillion which is used to the building itself.
