The Defense Ministry said Indonesia is ready to conduct cooperation with the production of fighter aircraft in South Korea. It was declared Defence Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro and South Korean Defense Minister Kim Tae-Young after a bilateral meeting in Jakarta.
Cooperation of this fighter, said Purnomo, an agreement signed in July 2010. Connecting the previous agreement signed in 2006. "Strategic partnership is to be one focus," he said.
Purnomo said the joint project in the making KFX fighter aircraft will begin in 2012. Hopefully, he said, the projects the two countries could produce a prototype aircraft in 2020. "We hope Indonesia could become the production base," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Defense Secretary Samsoeddin Sjafrie said Indonesia would also ask the right sales of aircraft in production later.
