Police believe body parts found at two floodgates in East Jakarta and Bekasi belong to a female victim of mutilation.
East Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comsr. Hasanudin said he believed the murder took place near the East Jakarta floodgate.
“The victim was a woman between 12 to 20 years old. She had fair skin and allegedly was murdered near the dam. The body parts were thrown in near the dam and stuck at the floodgate,” said Hasanudin.
A city employee tending to the East Jakarta waterway, Supardi, found the body parts at 6.30 a.m. He also found a plastic bag containing a dress and a t-shirt. Three hours later, a separate find occurred at the Kandang floodgate in Bekasi, West Java. The remains were taken to the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.
In January, the mutilated body of a 9-year-old busker was found near the East Flood Canal in Cakung, East Jakarta. He is believed to be a victim of alleged serial killer Bayquni, who has confessed to murdering 14 children. The case is still under investigation.
