Former chief detective Comr. Gen.Susno Duadji says he has not been named as suspect in connection with corruption allegations he has made against colleagues at the National Police.
“I was only questioned. I am not a suspect,” said Susno in Metro TV. “I was blamed for talking to reporters and giving information to the Judicial Mafia Eradication Task Force.”
The National Police said on Monday they would take legal action against Susno for defamation if his accusations prove groundless.
House Commission III on legal and political affairs reiterated that it would seek an update on the matter from the National Police.
“Commission III will summon the National Police Chief to clarify about Pak Susno’s status,” said Golkar politician Nudirman Munir, adding that the police should be grateful to Susno.
“The information given by Pak Susno is very enlightening. The information has lifted the curtain on hidden problems,” he said.
Susno has made headlines with his claims that three high-raking National Police officials accepted Rp 25 billion ($2, 743, 333) to drop an investigation into a tax evasion case.
The former head detective was himself implicated in an alleged plot to frame two anticorruption officials last year.
He is expected to face further questioning at National Police headquarters today.
